We dance for laughter, we dance for tears,
we dance for madness, we dance for fears,
we dance for hopes,
we dance for screams, we are the dancers,
we create the dreams.

There is a bit of insanity in dancing that does everybody a great deal of good.

STUDIO POLICIES

ATTENDANCE:
All students are expected to attend and be on time for all classes in which they are enrolled. Make-up classes for illness or family emergencies may be arranged; please see the Director for information. Payment for the whole month is expected even if your student is absent, the class falls on a holiday, or there is a weather cancellation.

VISITORS:
Parents and friends may not observe during class. There are special events set aside for the parents and visitors to come in and observe. Please watch for e-mails and newsletters on this topic.

CONDUCT IN THE STUDIO:
All students and parents are expected to respect and abide by the studio policies. Students should conduct themselves in a courteous and polite manner at all times. Misconduct or a poor attitude will result in the student being asked to leave class so that others who want to learn are no longer distracted. If a student is asked more than twice in a class period to sit down, the student will be asked not to return until they can respect the teacher and the other students. The Director will make the final disciplinary actions deemed appropriate for the behavior. This may include permanent dismissal from the studio.

NO FOOD OR DRINK IS ALLOWED ON THE DANCE FLOOR AT ANY TIME. Students may have water before and after class only.

Please leave valuables at home. For A Dancer, Inc. and its staff will not be responsible for lost or stolen items. Jewelry should not be worn during class time. All belongings should be placed neatly on the hooks provided and students should not enter the dance area until the previous class has been dismissed.

Please keep in mind at all times to respect the studio space and equipment. PLEASE KEEP OFF THE BARRES, WALLS, AND MIRRORS.

For A Dancer, Inc. practices an open enrollment policy. Students are accepted into classes regardless of sex, race, religion, or national origin as space is available.

DRESS CODE:

Dance discipline results in better training of the student and this begins with the way we present ourselves in class.

Ballet I, II, & III students must wear black leotards, pink tights and pink all-leather, split-sole Ballet shoes. Ballet skirts may be worn. Hair must be pulled back and out of the face in a Ballet bun. This rule will be strictly enforced and students not in proper attire will sit out.

Pre-ballet/Tap students wear all pink and have tan tap shoes.

Jazz students will dress in form fitting leotards with tights or leggings. Jazz students may wear any color and design with good taste in mind. Jazz pants are acceptable but NO PAJAMA bottoms! Tan jazz boots or dance paws are required, please check with the instructor. Hair must be completely off the face.

Tap students dress as above with tan tap shoes.

All classes have required shoes, please see the instructor or Director for details.
